Partial Fractions

Express \displaystyle \frac{1}{x^2-2} in partial fractions.

 

    \begin{align*} x^2-2&=x^2-\left(\sqrt{2}\right)^2\\ &=\left(x+\sqrt{2}\right)\left(x-\sqrt{2}\right) \end{align*}
